Help us celebrate Dr. Seuss and Read Across America week at the Pinelands Preservation Alliance! This free family event is full of fun activities about reading and the environment for you and your children to enjoy. Story time runs from 2pm to 4pm where guest readers will delight children with well-known stories from Dr. Seuss and friends. Children can make a craft to take with them and make their own snack!

Pinelands Commission Meeting

The Pinelands Commission is the state agency that oversees conservation and development within the Pinelands boundaries. They hold a regular monthly meeting that is open to the public. They need to hear from you! The public is allowed to comment during the General Public Comment portion of the agenda.

30th Annual Pinelands Short Course

The Pinelands Short Course is a daylong event at Stockton University featuring educational presentations that explore the Pinelands. This event is sponsored by the state Pinelands Commission and Stockton University. Topics include Weather in the Pinelands, Geological and Land Use History, Batona Trail the Premier Walking Path of the Pinelands, Blueberries and Cranberries, Plants of the Pinelands, Attracting Birds to Your Yard, Birds of the Pine Barrens, Pinelands Frogs and Toads, Timber Rattlesnakes of the Pines, and much more! Enjoy music and field trips.
- PPA's Director of Conservation Science, Dr. Ryan Rebozo, will lead a field trip into the Pinelands to discuss fire ecology including a visit to the pygmy pine plains!
- Pinelands Adventures Director of Education, John Volpa will lead a talk on history, geologic time, people and industries of the Pine Barrens (Pine Barrens Time Machine)!
- Pinelands Adventures staff, Jeff Larsen will lead a bus tour to give a glimpse of what life was like in the Pine Barrens along the Wading River in the 1800’s.
