Description: This year marks the 45th anniversary since John McPhee first wrote about the Pine Barrens in the New Yorker magazine. The following year, The Pine Barrens was published in book form, and still serves as a classic on life in the pines. Come join us as we embark on a journey recounting the past 45 years of Pinelands protection using McPhee's book as a guide. We will discuss the people and places referenced in the book, and the events that ultimately led to State and Federal legislation to protect this special place.
