John Dighton, Ph.D.

Trustee of the Pinelands Preservation Alliance

John Dighton, Ph.D.is the director of Rutgers University Pinelands Field Station and member of the faculty of the Department of Ecology, Evolution and Natural Resources (New Brunswick) and Biology Department (Camden) of Rutgers. He obtained an external London University B. Sc. degree in Botany and Zoology, a M. Sc. Degree in Ecology from the University of Durham studying breeding success of large gulls and a Ph. D. from London University studying soil ecology. After 15 years of working for a UK government research organization, doing research on forest soils and pollution, he moved to Rutgers where his research and teaching interest lie in forest soil ecology, pollution and mycology. John joined the board in 2001.
