Work Days in the Pine Barrens
Looking to get outside and volunteer in the Pine Barrens? Join our stewardship coordinator, Jason Howell, at one of the following events.
With the help of volunteers, we can help restore the damage, protect the forests against continued abuse, and promote responsible use of the lands. These work days are critical ways to protect against water degradation and habitat loss.
Check out our Save The Source campaign to protect the Pine Barrens Kirkwood-Cohansey aquifer from overuse and pollution.

Crossley Preserve Cleanup - All Hands on Deck (Ocean County)
Date: May 27th
Time: 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon
Meeting Location: 130 St. Maximillian Lane, Toms River, NJ 08753
Help us with this massive cleanup of the JCP&L right of way that goes through the Crossley Nature Preserve. This site really needs your help to remove debris and protect critical threatened and endangered species habitat. This site is over 2,900 acres and is protected by the New Jersey Natural Lands Trust but it has been treated as a dumping ground over the years.
If you have a 4x4 vehicle or truck it would be very useful to have for transportation and/or moving debris.
Bring water, lunch, gloves and a hat. Wheelbarrows, rake or shovel would be very useful to bring with you.
Learn more about the preserve here.
Note: St. Maximillian Lane dead ends at a large Church, our meetup location is just before the Church.
