At the Heritage Forum we will hear about some important marketing and tourism projects, communication efforts and interpretation projects all occurring in the Pinelands. We will also spend time in a series of round table group discussions to begin to develop task forces to help move some of the clear goals identified by focus group participants forward for the coming year.

Over 40 vendors and non-profits with helpful information on greening our lifestyle. Speakers, entertainment, kids activities and more. Environmental, nature photography, health care, home care, pet care, solar, recycling and even the US Green Building Council will be in attendance. Run by Mainstreet Hammonton and the Hammonton Education Foudation, who will be holding clothing drops, e-waste drops, eyeglass drops, computer drops, a shredder event and a town wide yard sale on this day. Festival takes place on Vine St, adjacent to the historic Eagle Theater. (Rain date 9/26)

Description: Tour sites will includes the historic Eagle Theatre, Hammonton Train Station, various store fronts, memorial parks, museums, houses of worship and many homes.

You are invited to participate in the Hammonton Green Committee's 4th Annual Green Day Festival, scheduled for Sunday, September 18, 2011, from Noon to 4:00 p.m. Once again the festival will be held on the grounds of St. Joseph's High School, in the heart of downtown Hammonton, 328 Vine Street.
This year's theme, "A Celebration of Hammonton's Green Traditions: using lessons from the past to create a sustainable future," will demonstrate how some of our "old-fashioned" ways are actually keys to a sustainable, greener future. Events planned for the day that will highlight this theme include:
Economy in the kitchen - learn how to cut down on waste and make the most of your food resources
Hand-crafted bird houses by local artists will be auctioned off
An "old world" Italian-style wine-making demonstration
Learn the joys and benefits of raising chickens in your back yard
Learn how easy it is to start composting a nd creating "gardener's gold"
