A 10-mile trip on a favorite Pinelands waterway and look for turtles sunning themselves along the way. We'll paddle from the trailhead behind Burlington County Community College to Smithville. Meet at the Canoe Trail launch ramp on W. Rancocas Rd., off Rt. 530 in Pemberton. Leader is an "early riser", so contact him between 4am and 7pm if you have any questions. The Pine Barrens
A day-long naturalist tour of one of the beautiful and historic Pinelands rivers. Foliage and wildlife make this an exhilarating and memorable experience. For newcomers, a great introduction to the history and ecology of the Pine Barrens.
This is a leisurely paddle, but may be moderately challenging for some. It's best to have some canoe or kayak experience before making this trip. You can rent a canoe or kayak (approx. $40 per canoe, made payable to canoe livery, by cash or check only), or bring your own. The livery will charge for a carry.
Pre-registration required. $15/person. Registration available online.
