This program emphasizes place-based environmental education and stewardship. PPA is currently working with the Pemberton School District to coordinate between teachers, students, residents and local government to foster the long-term stewardship of several preserved open spaces within the Township. This program is funded by generous grants from Subaru of America Foundation and The Stone Foundation of New Jersey.
Pemberton Summer Teacher Institute
July 9 - 13, 2012
The 2012 Pemberton Summer Teacher Insitute is based on the Black Run Summer Teacher Institute model in Evesham, with a very similar agenda. The program is FREE. Lunch and snacks are provided each day. Attendees are eligible for 35 professional development credits.

The program is open to teachers in the Pemberton School District.
Classwork and field exercises will take place a various preserved open space and other locations throughout the local watershed, including the headquarters of Pinelands Preservation Alliance, the Rutgers Pinelands Field Station, and a guided canoe trip along the Rancocas Creek.
